Asheville High graduate Wakefield Ellison and the Cedar Valley (Iowa) CourtKings won the inaugural Midwest Basketball League championship on Sunday.
MINNEAPOLIS – Asheville High graduate Wakefield Ellison and the Cedar Valley (Iowa) CourtKings won the inaugural Midwest Basketball League championship on Sunday.
Cedar Valley topped the Minnesota Rangers, 108-98.
Ellison averaged 11.3 points per game in his first professional season. He is a 6-foot-6 guard/forward for Cedar Valley (13-4) who graduated from Asheville in 2009. Ellison played collegiately at East Carolina and Winston-Salem State.
