Shrine Bowl of the Carolina’s 2016 Player Selection Release
North and South Carolina Shrine Bowl Coaches will gather at the Oasis Shrine Center 604 Doug Mayes Place in Charlotte on Monday September 26th at 2PM for the selection announcement of the 88 players from the more than 400 name submissions from the two Carolinas.
Ron Long, Athletic Director of the Shrine Bowl said, “Tar Heel Head Coach David Gentry of Murphy High School in Murphy, North Carolina and Sandlapper Head Coach Phil Strickland of Newberry High School in Newberry, South Carolina along with their respective coaching staffs will select 44 players each, in what they termed would well represent their respective states. This final selection process culminates nearly a year of extraordinary work that these coaching staffs’ dedicate to the selection process in addition to their regular jobs.”
Earlier today, Jamie Smith, General Game Chairman and Connie Altman, Chairman of The Shrine Bowl Board of Governors announced that the Shrine Bowl of the Carolina’s Web site and GoUpstate.com will present a live Internet Webcast that will include the Shrine Bowl Player Selection Rosters for 2016. Members of the Press are invited to attend and fully participate in the Press Conference. The Press Conference/Webcast is slated to begin at 2PM on Monday, September 26th, 2016.
