West Henderson senior Tyson Hichman has been named the state player of the week for North Carolina by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Hichman set a school record for career scoring (94 goals) in Monday’s 6-0 road win over Tuscola.
He came into Wednesday with a team-high 20 goals for the Falcons (9-3-1, 5-0-0). Hichman was the 2015 Western North Carolina Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year as well as a first-team selection on the Citizen-Times All-WNC team.
He has not yet made a college commitment.
