Ferguson (8,197 yards) completed 21 of his 37 attempts for 279 yards and one touchdown in a 42-15 win at McDowell.
Ferguson is a three-year starter for the Warriors (4-4, 2-1). He now has 2,607 yards for the season, which is the most in the state, according to MaxPreps.
Ferguson broke the former WNC record for career passing (7,895 yards) last week. The state record is held by Chris Leak (15,593) who played for Charlotte Independence from 1999 to 2002.
