Hiwassee Dam has hired new coaches for a couple programs which won conference championships last school year.
The Eagles’ new girls basketball coach Is Chase Phillips. He comes to Hiwassee Dam from Hayesville and inherits a program that has won 103 games the past four seasons.
Carissa Dancer is the new softball coach. She had previously been a varsity assistant and JV head coach for the defending Smoky Mountain Conference champions. Hiwassee Dam won the 1-A Western Regional championship in 2015.
Both Phillips and Dancer are staff members at Hiwassee Dam Elementary/Middle.
