For the first time in the Haywood County rivalry’s 53-game history, the home team (Pisgah) accepted credit and debit cards for those wishing to buy raffle tickets.
The Pisgah Booster Club raised $23,014 through the tickets and sale of merchandise Friday.
A helicopter flown by two Vietnam veterans delivered the game ball.
Pisgah press box attendant Buddy Ledford has been to all 53 Pisgah-Tuscola games since the schools started playing in 1966 and said that Friday’s crowd – estimated at approximately 13,000 — was the largest he has ever witnessed.
