Roberson senior Mary Laci Motley has committed to play college soccer for Kentucky.
As a junior, Motley earned All-Mountain Athletic Conference and Citizen-Times All-WNC honors after scoring a team-high 21 goals to go along with six assists. The next-highest scorer for the MAC 4-A champion Rams (19-2-3) had 11 goals. Motley was part of the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association all-district team.
Motley is also an accomplished track athlete. She ran the area’s fastest-reported times in the 200-meter dash (26.22 seconds) and 400-meter dash (58.03) last spring.
