Enka is home for Wednesday night’s game against nationally-ranked North Davidson.
Spring break is a time to take it easy.
Enka softball is going against the grain this week.
The Sugar Jets had their 37-game winning streak ended Monday night at Boiling Springs (S.C.), 6-4.
And Wednesday’s opponent may be even better. North Davidson (11-0) is ranked 18th in the country by MaxPreps and has outscored its opponents, 70-11, so far.
The Sugar Jets (9-1) fell behind, 4-0, after the first two innings Monday in South Carolina and could never recover. Addison Harris went 2-for-4 at the plate, while Payton Trantham was 1-3 with a double and two RBIs. Claire Crout went 1-3.
Monday’s loss was the first for Enka since May 30, 2014.
Want to see the Sugar Jets and North Davidson go at it Wednesday? A junior varsity/varsity doubleheader in Candler begins with the JV game at 5 p.m.
Enka won last year’s game between the two teams in Lexington, 9-3.
