Roberson’s Nate Fore.
Wednesday was a full day for Roberson at the IMG National Classic in Bradenton, Fla.
The Rams (10-1) became the first Western North Carolina baseball team to reach double-digit wins this season. They finished off a 7-3 win over Lexington (Ky.) Catholic that had been suspended the day before by stormy weather.
Nate Fore was 2-for-3 with an RBI at the plate and also pitched a 4.2 inning save. He only surrendered one hit after relieving starter Devin Dickens.
Vanderbilt recruit Garrett Blaylock’s lone base hit was a triple.
Roberson was only able to muster three hits in its second game Wednesday, a 7-0 shutout loss to the tournament host. Blaylock and Chris Barnwell both went 1-3.
The Rams continue the tourney Thursday at 1 p.m. with a losers bracket game against St. Edward (Ohio).
