North Henderson baseball is using Saturday’s alumni game as the culmination for its season-long campaign to raise awareness for pediatric cancer.
All former North Henderson and Edneyville players are invited to take part in Saturday’s festivities at the high school:
Batting Practice: 10 to 11 a.m.
Game: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Head shaving and cookout: 2 to 3 p.m.
The money being raised by the Knights will help go towards a teen room for cancer patients at Mission Hospital.
More from North Henderson coach Justin King, who describes the significance of the above photo:
This is our team posing with The Fox family (Kenan, Molly, Aubree and Lawson) last week. The family came to watch practice and meet with the team. Kenan is a lifelong friend who attended TC Roberson with me and his wife was a cheerleader with my wife at AC Reynolds. Hiis daughter Aubree is currently undergoing treatment for Leukemia. Putting a face to our players for why we are fundraising with this organization. The money raised is helping fund a teen room at Mission Hospital.
We were also honoring baseball on Opening Day by wearing favorite MLB team gear.
