5:49: Game over. Mustangs end their season with a 20-7 record.

5:48: Williamson flies out to deep right field.

5:46: Runner on second with two outs.

5:45: Parker Williamson is up to bat. He leads Smoky with five homers this spring.

5:44: Hooper strikes out. Two outs.

5:43: Cole Hooper at bat. He could tie the game with one swing.

5:42: RUN SMOKY MOUNTAIN. Tristen Kenyon pokes a single into left field.

5:41: RUN SMOKY MOUNTAIN. Ethan Stewart called for a balk. That allows Kevin Allred to score from third base. Runner on third with one out.

5:39: Runners advance to second and third on a wild pitch.

5:37: Walk for pinch runner Trevor Lewis. Runners on first and second with one out.

5:35: Kevin Allred laces a double into left field. Mustangs have their first hit.

5:32: One out.

5:31: Bryce Junaluska is the first batter for Smoky Mountain in the bottom of the seventh. Mustangs still have no hits.

5:30: RUN EAST RUTHERFORD. Leadoff Holden Greene slaps an RBI single into right field. He then takes second on a wild pitch. Runner on second with two outs.

5:27: One-out walk for East Rutherford.

5:23: 1-2-3 inning. Mustangs are down to their final three outs.

5:20: Ethan Stewart still rolling for Smoky Mountain. He has 10 strikeouts now.

5:16: Hooper gets Smoky out of the jam. Headed to the bottom of the sixth.

5:15: Hooper walks Reece Oliver. Runner on first with no outs.

5:10: Pitching change. N.C. State recruit Cole Hooper coming in to pitch for the Mustangs. No outs here in the top of the sixth.

5:09: RUN EAST RUTHERFORD. RUN EAST RUTHERFORD. Kendall Gowan hits a two-run homer to left field. Three runs might be insurmountable with the way that Stewart is pitching for the Cavaliers.

5:06: Bunt single for Holden Greene to start the sixth inning. East Rutherford has a runner on first with no outs.

5:04: Five innings complete here in Jackson County. Still 1-0 in East Rutherford’s favor.

5:03: Nine strikeouts.

5:02: East Rutherford pitcher Ethan Stewart now up to eight strikeouts.

5:00: Smoky Mountain coming up to bat in the bottom of the fifth.

4:58: That’s all the damage that East Rutherford can do.

4:55: RUN EAST RUTHERFORD. Cavaliers pitcher Ethan Stewart skies a home run to right field. One out in this inning so far.

4:47: Still no hits for Smoky Mountain her in the bottom of the fourth inning. Two outs with Jacob Gass at bat.

4:45: Good recovery by Zebby Matthews. Three straight outs after the leadoff double. Matthews now has five strikeouts.

4:40: Leadoff double for East Rutherford’s Kendall Gowan. Runner on second base with no outs.

4:36: Nothing doing for the Mustangs. Three innings are complete.

4:35: Zebby Matthews walks with one out for Smoky Mountain. Runner on first base with one out.

4:31: Only one hit (a single) for both teams right now. Little rain shower just moved through but moved out quick.

4:30: Back to the top of the order for East Rutherford. Two outs and no one on right now.

4:26: 1-2-3 inning for East Rutherford. Two records are in the books here in Sylva.

4:22: Cavaliers try a double steal and Smoky Mountain catcher Kevin Allred sniffs it out. He throws to Zebby Matthews on the mound who then gets Matt Miller at home plate for the third out.

4:20: Runners on the corners with two outs.

4:18: Runners on first and second for East Rutherford with one out in the top of the second.

4:15: Smoky Mountain strands Waliezer.

4:06: One-out walk for Tyler Waliezer. Bryce Junaluska coming to bat.

4:02: Three up, three down for the Cavaliers. Smoky Mountain coming up for the first time.

3:59: Good start for Smoky Mountain starter Zebby Matthews. His first five pitches are all strikes. One out, no one on.

3:58: Teams have about identical records: Smoky Mountain is 20-6, East Rutherford is 19-7.
