The Cardinals (2-0) were down 5-0 after four innings of play Thursday night in Skyland. From there, the floodgates opened for an 11-8 win over visiting Rutherford County at Holmes-Smith Field.
Undefeated Post 70 has now scored 43 combined runs in back-to-back home wins.
Asheville got two hits apiece Thursday from Jared Patterson and Nate Fore. Patterson drove in a team-high three runs and homered for the second time this season.
Jacob McCarthy added two RBIs. Aaron McKeithan and Garrett Blaylock were both 1-3 with a pair of walks.
Robert Rogers was the winning pitcher. He threw five innings of relief, allowing four runs (only one earned), six hits and no walks. Rogers had three strikeouts. Kyle Cagle got a save.
The next game for Post 70 is Tuesday at home against Hickory. The first pitch is at 7 p.m.
