Reynolds senior Christina Shimshock (11) was this past season’s Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year for girls soccer.
Reynolds striker Christina Shimschock is one of 18 statewide seniors who have been selected to play in the July 9 Clash of the Carolinas all-star girls soccer game in Raleigh.
Shimshock was the Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year this past season with 36 goals and 21 assists for the Rockets (18-4-4). Shimshock has signed to play college soccer for Lenior-Rhyne.
The 10th annual Clash pits seniors from North Carolina against 18 of their counterparts from South Carolina. And it won’t be Shimshock’s only postseason all-star game. She and All-MAC defender Ashlyn Perkins (six goals, seven assists) will represent Reynolds in the East-West All-Star game on July 19 in Greensboro. Perkins has signed with Mars Hill.
Lastly, Daniel Vickers will get a chance to play high school soccer one last time in the East-West boys game. Vickers is an uncommitted forward who had six goals and a half-dozen assists for the Rockets (19-5-1) last fall.
