Franklin football coach Josh Brook and the Panthers host East Henderson on Oct. 20, the same night as an athletic hall of fame induction in Macon County.
Franklin’s very first conference-championship football team (1971) will be front and center at the school’s athletic hall of fame induction on Oct. 20.
Randy Chastain was the tailback for that team and will be inducted along with his former high school coach, Pat Pattillo, and 1971 assistant Joe Hall, who later coached the Panthers himself from 1981 to 1987.
Pattillo is a posthumous hall of fame selection as he died in March.
Former basketball/football player Walter Scruggs will also be inducted, as well as booster club secretary Rhonda Blanton and booster club president Tommy Cabe.
The hall of fame induction is scheduled for the same Thursday night as a televised football game (versus East Henderson) inside the Panther Pit.
