Asheville High graduate Wakefield Ellison is a first-year member of the Cedar Valley (Iowa) CourtKings.
CEDAR VALLEY, Iowa – Asheville High graduate Wakefield Ellison scored 10 points in Saturday’s final regular-season game for the Cedar Valley (Iowa) CourtKings, a 115-97 win over the Minnesota Broncos.
The CourtKings (8-4) finished second in the Midwest Basketball League’s West division and have not lost at home this year. The MBL playoffs begin Aug. 19.
Ellison graduated from Asheville in 2009. He played college basketball for East Carolina and Winston-Salem State. Cedar Valley is Ellison’s first professional basketball opportunity.
