Special thanks to the Highland Football Club for this information and the photos:
Two girls teams from the Highland Football Club (HFC) have advanced to the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA) Final Four. This is the first time in the organization’s history that two girls’ teams have advanced to the NCYSA Final Four in the same year. The 01 HFC Red G (Under 16) advanced to the NCYSA State Cup Final Four and the 00 HFC Red G (Under 17) advanced to the NCYSA President’s Cup Final Four. Both teams will have the opportunity to compete for state championships this weekend in Wilson, NC. The semifinals will be held on Saturday and the finals will be held on Sunday.
“Anytime a team can be one of the last four teams in the state playing then that is obviously a tremendous accomplishment. It is great to have two of our teams advance to the NCYSA Final Four and we are all extremely proud of these players. It is really a great testament to all of the quality work that is being done with the girls here in Western North Carolina with both their club soccer and high school soccer.” said Jason ReMine, the Director of the Girls’ Classic Program for HFC.
