And this time she means it.
Batchelor said that she had “technically retired from coaching” back in 2013 which was her final year as a teacher in Haywood County. Batchelor ended up returning for three more seasons with the Mountaineers.
Batchelor was named a conference coach of the year eight times in her career (six times for the girls, two for the boys) and was a dual award-winner this season in the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference.
Her athletes won a total of 14 state championships at the NCHSAA 3-A meet. Team-wise, her boys and girls teams each finished as high as third at the 3-A meet.
