Chris Narveson is giving the Miami Marlins something to think about.

Narveson, 34, came off the disabled list Monday for Triple-A New Orleans. He pitched six shutout innings, allowing just one hit in a 7-2 home win over the Round Rock (Texas) Express.

More from the Zephyrs:

Chris Narveson, activated from the disabled list for tonight’s start, pitched a brilliant six-inning performance in his return to the mound. He faced the minimum through five innings before allowing his only hit of the night to Doug Bernier to lead off the sixth.

Narveson quickly erased Bernier after inducing Patrick Cantwell to pop out in foul territory and James Jones to ground into an inning-ending double play. He lowered his ERA over the last seven starts to a Pacific Coast League-leading 1.21.

The Marlins sent Narveson down to their Triple-A affiliate in April. At the time, he was 1-0 for Miami as a reliever with a 8.64 earned-run average.

The left-hander has pitched off and on in the majors since 2006. He was taken in the second round of the 2000 Major League Baseball draft by St. Louis.
