JENSEN BEACH, Fla. – The North Buncombe 14 and under softball team is 5-2 in the Babe Ruth World Series after Monday morning’s 7-2 win over the Vineland (N.J.) All-Stars in an elimination game.
North Buncombe’s next game is Monday at 2 p.m. The team is currently in the consolation bracket, but still has a chance to win the tournament which runs through Tuesday.
The Lady Hawks are representing the Southeast region as its champion. No North Buncombe team has ever advanced this far in postseason play for Babe Ruth softball.
