A family friend has set up a GoFundMe page to not only help Roberson senior Dezmond Moorman with his medical expenses, but a trip to January’s Blue-Grey All-American Bowl.

The page can be found here.

Moorman (772 yards, 10 touchdowns in 2015) is the Rams’ top returning rusher from last season.

He was shot twice during a July 13 dispute at Asheville’s Pisgah View Apartments and is expected to need at least two months to recover physically. At that time, doctors could clear him to play football again.

Asheville’s Angela Brown writes in a summary for the GoFundMe page that Moorman has been unable to work a job since the shooting, which has put an added financial burden on his family.

Brown hopes the page, which has a goal of $7,042, will help offset some of the costs for Moorman’s medical care and send both his parents to the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl. The game is Jan. 14 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Moorman earned an invitation to the All-American Bowl after two successful combine performances. He has run a hand-timed 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds.
